The Rev. Chris Parrish is a South African by birth. He was made deacon and ordained priest in the Diocese of Grahamstown in the Anglican Church of Southern Africa. Before his ordination he qualified as a high school English teacher and taught at schools in South Africa and in Damaraland, Namibia. He met and married his lovely wife, Bridgitte, in 1988. They have two adult sons, Peter and Paul.

Believing God to be calling them to the USA in 1996, Fr. Chris and his family sold their home in South Africa, as well as most of their possessions, giving some away, and flew to California in December of that year. After working in various positions of pastoral and secular employment from 1998 until 2007, Fr. Chris was received as a presbyter in the Reformed Episcopal Church’s Diocese of Mid-America in July 2007. His most recent ministry has been as Rector of All Saints’ Reformed Episcopal Church, Shreveport, from 2009 until the end of 2014. He was called as Rector of St. Luke’s Chapel in the Hills in March 2015.

Fr. Chris is a priest with twenty-three years’ experience as a rector, and believes in a caring, compassionate approach to ministry as well as in thorough, Biblical, textual and expository preaching and teaching with the purpose of equipping the people of God for the work of ministry.
